Why keywords decide who gets seen
Recruiters search their applicant tracking system for the skills in the job description. If your resume says "MS Excel" and they search "Excel", or you list "ML" and they search "machine learning", you may not appear. The scanner pulls the must-have and nice-to-have keywords from a job description and, if you paste your resume text, shows which ones you already cover.
- Must-have keywords count double in the match percentage
- Use the job’s exact phrasing, inside real bullets, where it is true
- Never add a keyword for a skill you do not have

Frequently asked questions
Is my resume stored when I paste it?
No. Only the job description is sent to the AI to find the keywords; your pasted resume text is matched on the server and not stored.
What match percentage should I aim for?
Cover every must-have skill you genuinely have, using the job’s wording. For the rest, learn the skill or show the closest real experience.
